Getting a photo that decodes
- Fill the frame with the screen. The decoder needs detail: the closer, the better.
- Send the original photo (iPhone HEIC is fine), not a copy that went through a chat app — those shrink and recompress it.
- Pure-black screens cannot be read (e.g. a black terminal): the watermark barely emits any light there. Grey, coloured and light content works.
- A hard photo can take a minute or two; the page stays responsive and can be cancelled.
